From AG News Oct. 13, 2014
In the West African countries of Guinea, Liberia, Senegal and Sierra-Leone, the Ebola crisis continues to wreak havoc--businesses continue to close, food supplies are dwindling, the disease is spreading, and fear is the constant companion of all. Currently, the death toll has exceeded 4,000 of the more than 8,300 people known to have contracted the Ebola virus.
AG World Missions sent financial emergency assistance to the affected countries in early August and is partnering with Convoy of Hope for growing relief efforts. AGWM has committed to raising funds to cover the costs of shipping and distribution of food, desperately needed equipment for additional medical clinics, and other critically needed items being procured by Convoy of Hope.
The Liberia AG has also been working closely with the country's Ministry of Health and has made preparations to warehouse meals shipped in during relief efforts. Church leaders have also implemented a distribution plan across the country.
The Liberia AG has also been hosting national days of prayer and fasting, while continuing to provide hands-on relief efforts.
Please pray for God's blessing upon these initiatives. Pray for God's protection upon those who will be distributing food and equipment. Pray that sufficient funds will be made available to cover the costs of supplies and distribution. Pray that many lives will be touched in powerful ways by God's hand and the love of His people.
