The National Prayer Center was established in 1994 to provide a call center and receiving point for requests from people seeking help through prayer. Since its establishment, millions of calls and requests have come to the 1-800-4-PRAYER phone line and through the web site, email, fax, and mail.
A central office and phone center located at the Assemblies of God headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, handles calls that come to 1-800-4-PRAYER. Volunteers take the callers’ needs to God in prayer. Callers regularly express heartfelt thanks to volunteers for taking the time to spend a few moments in prayer with them.
Additionally, many requests come to the National Prayer Center via the Internet. These requests are distributed weekly to the Intercessory Prayer Network. Faithful volunteers across the United States take these requests to the Lord individually, in prayer groups, or in church services.
Please consider partnering with us through the Intercessory Prayer Network. You will be a blessing to many people who need God’s help; and you too will be blessed and enriched as you pray with others.
The National Prayer Center also provides resources on prayer for churches and individual believers. This growing area includes specialized prayer guides, a prayer Scripture manual, ideas for mobilizing prayer in your local church, and a collection of prayer articles. In addition, an extensive bibliography, booklets, Week of Prayer resources, and other materials are available to help you better understand the power and possibilities of prayer.
