The Office of Prayer & Spiritual Care serves people seeking help through prayer with a 24/7/365 automated call line—1-800-4-PRAYER—that allows callers to listen to prayers (in English or Spanish) relating to a variety of needs and concerns. Listeners may also listen to a daily Scripture and prayer devotional as well as learn about prayer resources offered by the OPSC.
Christians committed to prayer can also become part of the Intercessory Prayer Network and pray for needs and concerns highlighted each week in the Prayer Alerts & Updates section of the OPSC Web site.
The OPSC is devoted to helping individual Christians to become people of prayer and churches to become houses of prayer. A number of downloadable resources are available on mobilizing prayer in the local church and understanding the power of prayer and intercession. Resources include numerous prayer guides, a cross-generational curriculum (Prayer Basics), prayer alerts and updates, a monthly e-newsletter (PrayerServ), and many other helps that are downloadable from the OPSC Web site.
Information also is shared on the OPSC Web site regarding various national and global prayer initiatives such as Week of Prayer, OneCry, National Day of Prayer, Global Day of Prayer, 12.12 Pray for Hope, International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, and others. Links are provided to resources available through the various initiatives.
